DeVille Magazine and it’s Memphis Connection

My dear friends, Billie Jayne DeVille and John Parnell, have been working on something really cool over in South Carolina for months now, and it’s finally time to share it with the world! Cue the dancing divas and topless men with toned abs while holding axes…..(I said that out loud, didn’t I?)

They are the proud new owners of DeVille Magazine! This Kustom Kulture magazine features all types of custom built cars and bikes, Lowbrow Art, music, models, Americana History, car show information, builder profiles and so much more! The first issue is actually issue #5, as they acquired this amazing magazine from its previous owner. Y’all, they have worked HARD for months and months to get this issue up to their standards before publishing, and I couldn’t be more proud for them. The cover is gorgeous. Just…look! (FYI, that is THE BEAUTIFUL, inside and out, Billie Jayne DeVille on the cover, yessir! I love her, as a friend and as a fierce woman who goes after what she wants and makes it happen!)

I mean, seriously…y’all. This cover is sooo snazzy. I’ve seen some of the contents and I’m here to tell you that this issue is crammed FULL of amazing articles, photos and information. It’s released quarterly, and you can subscribe to it for just $29.95/year, or you can get this single keepsake debut issue for $15. The website (here) also has swag you can order that is really cool and retro, along with submission info, etc. (They are not paying me to promote this, I’m just super excited to see it finally published and available after all of everyone’s hard work!)

What do I have to do with this magazine, you are asking? Well, early one Saturday morning several months ago, I participated in a conference call with John and Billie Jayne where I was vetted extensively on my talent, commitment and ability to represent DeVille Magazine here in Memphis. (If y’all ever find yourself in need of one top class interrogator, look no further than John Parnell, shew!!! LOL, I jest, but still…) They shared with me in detail their shared dream and vision for the magazine, and after it was all said and done, they asked me if I wanted to be a Columnist/Contributor and a part of the DeVille Magazine family. I said yes with ZERO hesitation. I think Billie Jayne and I are long lost sisters, she just inspires me with her tenaciousness and big heart, not to mention she’s a renowned pin stripper and pin up model! Then there’s John, aka “Big Bad John”, who is all business on the outside, and a big ole lovin’ teddy bear on the inside (he’s gonna get me for that!) who’s combined talent with Billie Jayne makes the two of them a formidable force to be reckoned with. The fact they even considered me to be a part of this surprised the hell out of me and made me tear up, for really real. They’ve included me not just as a friend, but also as family, and that means more to me than anything else I could ever ask for. Except for a ton of money and a Blake Shelton/Ryan Reynolds/Jimmy Fallon/Chris Hemsworth combo by my side, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Inside this issue, you will find not one, but two articles I wrote. Moving forward, you will find I’ll have a regular series, “Kimber’s Korner”, which will run the gamut from hot rods to music, to Memphis “life” and more. Squeeeee!!

At some point in the near future, there WILL be a photoshoot with a certain person writing this blog post, and a beautiful pink caddy, and who knows; maybe, just maybe, it will find it’s way into a future issue of DeVille Magazine. Stranger things have happened.
