I got to thinking after I posted about International Women’s Day yesterday that I had more than 6 badass women in my life, and I just want to highlight a few more today. (Some names have been changed to protect the innocent, not so innocent, and well, me.)
Brittney. She and I have only ever met one time but we talk nearly 5 days a week and she makes my work days soooo much better when things get crazy and I feel like I can’t take ONE MORE THING. She is also extra thoughtful and considerate and full of love for her family and friends. Some of my favorite things came as unexpected gifts from her. (I’m thinking of my flamingo necklace at the top of that list!). She’s someone I have relied heavily on more than she knows. I truly have love in my heart for her, and her family, too. She’s my sister in arms always!

Rebecca. I grew up with Rebecca and we reconnected several years later here in Memphis. Rebecca loves animals as much as I do, has a heart of gold, works hard, and came over the day after my surgery on her freaking lunch break to make sure I was ok, and to take care of my fur babies for me. She’s always down for a fun adventure around town, and has been so gracious when it comes to including me and Aunt Connie into her own adventures as well. I love her so!

Sierra. My cousin on my mom’s side. She’s dedicated her life to protecting and serving others, and she’s got a heart of gold. Yet, somehow, I always find myself feeling like I should protect her when we are together. Could be that she’s itty bitty and I’m a sasquatch next to her…but I love her with all my heart and butt. (Just keep in mind she CAN and she WILL kick your ass if needed.)

Amberlicious. Another cousin over here on my mom’s side but mostly known by those who follow me as “Monkey’s Mom”. She’s a fierce mama, a proud daughter, a great cousin and I believe in her (and have for her entire life) with all my heart. My love runs deep for this amazing dynamo of a gal!

Juliciousness. She’s been a friend of the family for so long now that she IS family. Like for reals. Also, Aunt Connie and I are convinced she must be a vampire as she’s been “forever 24” at least the last 15 years or so. SERIOUSLY. Her delicious “chocolate mice” have become a yearly tradition at our Christmas gatherings and fights WILL break out if everyone doesn’t get their own bundle of the chocolaty goodness. If you EVER want to feel joyful, just be in the Jules’ space for more than a minute and you’ll be filled to the brim with joy and happiness. I love you, lady!

As I continue to add names, I realize that I could EASILY add more and more, and while they all deserve a place on my blog wall, these 5 women each hold super extra special places in my heart and I wanted to make sure they had their day in the sun, too! I don’t tell ANYONE ENOUGH just how special they are to me, and I hope that I’ve added just a lil extra sunshine to their lives by sharing their special places in my heart with the world.
