Resurrection Sunday!

Happy Easter, everyone! He is risen! The tomb is empty! We are set free from our sins! We have the promise of eternal life because of Jesus’ death on the cross and his resurrection three days later.

If ever there was someone who didn’t deserve to be loved and saved by Jesus, it’s me. I’ve done and said things that have hurt people that I can never take back. I’ve lived in shame and humiliation. I’ve lost faith along the way. I turned my back on God, angry at what I felt were injustices that should have never happened, either to myself or loved ones. I’ve even hated who I became at one time.

You know what, though? He was always right beside me, arms outstretched, always ready to welcome me home without one ounce of judgement or anger. He knew, y’all. He knew who I would be before He even formed me in my womb. His love never wavered.

I had an experience where I nearly died at the hands of a stranger who assaulted me. When that happened, I wasn’t living 100% for God. Oh, I was trying, but I was still under a lot of temptation and surrounded by folks who didn’t have any relationship with God. In the aftermath of the assault, I told God if I made it through, I’d never forget His love for me and if I ever had a platform that could reach others, I’d share His love with others. I always end every radio show talking about God’s Grace, I run an online prayer group, but well, I’ve never really written about it. It’s time.

He’s right beside YOU today as well. He’s ready to welcome you into His arms and tell you He loves you. He loves you. He absolutely, undoubtedly loves you, no matter what you have ever done. He loves you.

The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Jesus died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with Him forever. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). But it didn’t end with His death on the cross. He rose again and still lives! “Christ died for our sins. … He was buried. … He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6).

We can’t earn salvation; we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins—that’s called repentance. Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty. Pray the following prayer to accept Christ as your Savior:

“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

If you just prayed that prayer, welcome to your new life! Your sins are forgiven! Your debt has already been paid by Jesus’ death and resurrection. You are made new and now have eternal life.

Hey, let’s do a happy wiggle, cause now you have a fresh start! Doesn’t that feel ohhh soo good?!!! Never fear, you don’t have to be perfect. We are all perfectly imperfect.

I mean, heck, y’all already know I love me some Jesus, but I still cuss and drink a lil and play my rockabilly music loud and proud!
